SPORTS CLUBS’ EFFECTIVENESS Some interesting lessons can be drawn from research done into the organizational effectiveness of Finnish Sports Clubs by Koski, who made a study into 835 Finnish sports clubs in an attempt to analyze their organizational effectiveness in terms of being an open and effective operation (Journal of Sport Management, Volume 9 Number 1). Koski examined five dimensions of effectiveness: • • • • • ability to obtain resources; internal atmosphere; efficiency of the through-put process; realization of aims; general level of activity.
