The more weight you can get behind (under) the kettlebell, the more force you will utilize in the press. The center of gravity (CoG) of the kettlebell + lower arm must project straight down through the hip and leg and through the middle of the foot. If you are not aligned like this, especially with a heavy kettlebell, you will battle Newtonian physics and lose. You will simply tip over, because you will not be able to anchor both your body and the kettlebell. Of course, this only applies when doing a one-arm kettlebell military press.

Everything is still tight. The plumb line of the system should run straight down the arm, into the shoulder, down through the hips and into the legs, and finally going through the foot of the pressing side slightly in front of the middle. Press lockout. AXIOM 11: When lowering the kettlebell, pretend you are doing a one-arm chin and actively pull the kettlebell down.
