From the Preface:

"By penning this consultant, it's not that i am attempting to compete
with the larger, extra tested publications to Israel
and Tel Aviv. this can be anything that you should upload to
your interpreting record, that you can avoid
tourist traps and notice the genuine urban and its
underground lifestyles. it's because you won’t locate many
obvious vacationer stuff right here, nor an excessive amount of approximately
accommodation.

I’ve now not shied clear of the political during this
guide since it is a vital part of the neighborhood
underground scene. in case you don’t proportion my left-
leaning political opinions or will not be attracted to
Israeli politics or volunteering, you're welcome
to forget about the Politics & Activism part
completely. nearly all of the areas during this
guide don't have anything to do with politics whatever,
although I evidently have something for areas
lefties and liberals might common. "

The main (and most pleasant) cycle paths are along Tel Aviv’s boulevards – Rothschild, Ben Gurion, Nordau, Chen and Ben Zion. There are also paths on both sides of Ibn Gabirol Street and, of course, along the seafront – the Tayelet. Officially, you’re meant to wear a helmet when you cycle and you’re not meant to cycle on the pavement (sidewalk). In reality, these laws are not enforced. You’ll hardly see anyone wearing a helmet in town and people cycle on the pavement all the time, which I suggest you also do, unless you’re a shit hot cyclist.

A trip from HaHagana station (about 5 minutes’ walk from the central bus station and a short cycle away from, say, Florentin) to the Uni takes around 10-15 minutes. You can’t take bicycles on the train (apart from folding bikes) but there are plenty of places to chain your bike at the station. Don’t leave your bike there overnight though as you may never see it again. They are talking about allowing normal bikes on trains during off-peak times, which will make everything a lot simpler, but so far nothing’s happened.

Call for an appointment or just turn up in case of an emergency. Booze Alcoholic beverages used to be on offer 24 hours a day from any supermarket, convenience store and, often Pitsutsiot (newsagents) as well as cafés, take away places and some juice stalls, pizza places and even greengrocers. Recently, though, the government brought in an annoying law that means no booze can be bought from shops and supermarkets between 11PM and 6AM. You can still buy everything in bars, clubs, cafés and restaurants during those hours, though, and everything everywhere outside of those hours.
