Уникальное энциклопедическое издание, в котором собрана абсолютно вся информация об Олимпийских Играх в Мельбурне, включая не только протоколы всех соревнований, редчайшие фотографии и малоизвестные факты, но и такие любопытные, на мой взгляд, материалы как схемы олимпийских трасс марафона и ходьбы, расположение секторов и мест на стадионах и аренах, стартовое и хронометрическое оборудование, билеты, награды, и даже сравнительные таблицы трансляций национальных теле-радиокомпаний и затрат на телефонные переговоры и телеграммы команд-участников.
Несмотря на английский язык, все материалы хорошо воспринимаются.
Лично я с большим интересом посмотрел фотографии легендарных спортсменов: Владимира Куца, Ларисы Латыниной, Вячеслава Иванова, наших чемпионов-футболистов.
Кстати, возвращаясь к предыдущим изданиям, посмотрите внимательно отличную подборку, посвященную эстафете Олимпийского огня. Огонь в чаше Олимпийского стадиона зажигает 19-летний Рон Кларк.
